Team Coco Launches "Judgmental Animals" on Google+

Does Google+ have a team doing celebrity development? These launches seem so coordinated and professional that we have to think that someone is reaching out to Adam Sandler, Will.I.Am and Snoop Dogg, and getting them engaged in the platform.

In Team Coco's first week on Google+, they will feature judgmental animals, which is similar to a segment on Conan O' Brien's video blog.

"Animals with judgmental expressions," Conan says in a video post on Google+. "This is my way of proving that the Internet is not a huge waste of time."

Last month, the Wall Street Journal reported how Google seems to be approaching celebrities for Google+ promotions and endorsements.

In an advertisement in the Times of India, Google invited readers to join Indian film star Shah Rukh-Khan in a Google+ Hangout. After Google+ launched to the public, Will.I.Am hosted a Hangout, which Google promoted on its homepage.

LAUNCH has contacted Google and will update this story if we receive a response. However, it appears that Google is not paying for celebrities to host Hangouts on its platform, a source familiar with the matter told the WSJ.

"No idea why I'm on Google+," Conan says in a video post. "Already on Myspace, Twitter and Friendster and Tumblr, and flub flub and gib gab."

Team Coco is also active on Twitter and Facebook, where the digital team lets users send F-cards -- videos of Conan.

Earlier this month, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg called Google+ a "little version of Facebook" to which Google VP of Product Bradley Horowitz replied, "We're delighted to be underestimated."

Google+ launched in June and opened to the public in September. In October, Google+ passed the 40M user mark. See more celebrities on Google+ here.
