With Halloween fast approaching, LAUNCH editors have found some awesome DIY tech-related costumes. Keep in mind that some will take longer to make than others.

One of our favorites: a fully-functional Nikon DSLR camera built with cardboard, a Dell laptop and a bucket by photographer Tyler Card [ h/t +Scott Beale. ]

When you press the shutter release button, the camera actually takes a picture and displays it on the LCD screen on the back.

Meet the guyPhone4. It took former Apple employee John Savio 40 hours and over $2K to create the life-sized fully functional iPhone 4, which weighed about 80 pounds, John tells LAUNCH. He modified the software on the iPhone to enable a live dual image output to the 42" screen so that people can access games, FaceTime and more, just like on the mobile device. John can also control what displays on the large screen from the iPhone [ see video below ].

YouTube user slimshadydavie created a giant iPad with foamcore. While this iPad isn't fully functional, it still features landscape mode.

"If we do [ see Steve Jobs costumes ], I hope they're tasteful," John says. "Not like making fun of him or anything. We're probably going to see a lot because it's kind of the hot story right now."
