Nimble Is Free No More, Launching CRM Platform at $15 Per User Monthly for Businesses

Nimble, the social CRM company that lets you monitor your Gmail, calendar, Facebook, Twitter and other social accounts, is set to publicly launch in January 2012 at a price slightly hire than expected.

"As you know, Nimble has been free during our testing phase," CEO Jon Ferrara writes to users. "We wanted to wait until Nimble was something worth paying for...something truly helpful in growing a business."

While a free single-user version of Nimble for basic social relationship management will still be available, businesses who use Nimble as a team will have to pay $15 per user per month, as opposed to $10 per user per month, which Jon hinted at on This Week in Startups in September. Competitor Salesforce, on the other hand, only offers paid plans starting $2 per user per month up to $250 per user per month.

Before starting Nimble, Jon co-founded GoldMine Software in 1989, which was the first software company to integrate email, telemarketing and client contacts into one package. In 1999, GoldMine had 150 employees with revenues approaching $25M and sold to FrontRange.

"The whole idea about relationships is saying what you're going to do and doing what you're going to say," Jon said on This Week in Startups in September. "You do that through your calendar and communications. In GoldMine we integrated contact, calendar and communications into one tool."

When you send a message, Nimble pulls your messages into the system, whether or not you sent the message using Nimble, Gmail or another service, and then synchronizes incoming messages from Gmail and other accounts into Nimble.

Nimble, founded in 2008 by Jon Ferrara and Gilles Marchand in November 2008, makes it easy for businesses to manage contacts, calendars and social networking conversations all in one place. It brings all of your contacts from various accounts into one contact record and then connects the direct communication into one system, Jon said on TWiST.

"I knew it was going to be an enormous challenge when we set out to create a new paradigm for CRM in 2010," Jon writes. "We wanted to enable businesses to manage Relationships & Social Engagement in a simple and elegant way. I am excited to tell you that we are weeks away from being "core vision complete" and will be releasing a major new version of Nimble in January 2012 that we are testing with select users today."

Since launching its beta version about one year ago, 15K+ users have signed up with thousands of those users spending roughly four hours every day on Nimble, the email states.

To learn more about upcoming Nimble features, the company is hosting a webinar on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 10am GMT.
