Facebook Messenger Gets iOS 5 Support, Adds New Features

The latest Facebook Messenger update now supports iOS 5, lets you know when a friend is typing and if they're on a mobile device.

Now, if a friend is slow to respond, you can cut them some slack if they're on a mobile device. Since the update also lets you see if they're typing, at least you'll know they're trying to respond.

The update is only available for iOS devices. Facebook Messenger released its most recent Android update in August.

LAUNCH has contacted Facebook and will update this story if we receive a response.

Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook in 2004. The company has raised $2.34B to date from investors including Microsoft, Greylock Partners and Founders Fund.
